Dr. Krishna S Iyer — published by Fortis as Dr. Krishna Subramony Iyer — is Chairman and Head of Paediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. His hospital profile records surgery on over 10,000 babies, children and adults with congenital heart disease.
In 1995 he established northern India's first dedicated paediatric cardiac care programme at what was then Escorts Heart Institute Research Centre, a programme Fortis describes as having become a benchmark for paediatric cardiac care in India and neighbouring South East Asian countries.
His operative range covers arterial switch and double switch procedures, TAPVC repair, Fontan and Fontan-type surgery, correction of Tetralogy of Fallot, DORV, Truncus, Senning operations, conduit repairs, and single and multi-stage correction of complex congenital conditions.
